Stichting SEENIK officieel opgericht

Opdat we mooie dingen mogen gaan maken!

Re-Take:
A film project about debt problems among young adults

Documentary. 47.30 minutes, 2015
directed by Erik Alkema

This film was shot during the Re-Take film project. A project in which
the participants (age 18- 26), most of them with a history of debt problems,
were taught the basics of film making.

Subsequently they made a short fiction film together about debts,
which was based on a script they wrote collectively.

Following the process of making this fiction film "met Ogen Dicht',
the participants slowly begin to open up and tell more and more
personal stories about their own experiences with debt problems
and how this influenced their lives and their world view.

At the invitation of the PeerGrouP and the Mondriaan Fund he lived and worked for two months two six-metre containers, one on top of the other . He enjoyed an almost limitless view, and researched and portrayed the area where once, in 1901, his grandfather was born as the son of a peat-digger in a hut made out of mud.

Erik wrote a blog during his residency: “Embedded in the Moor Colonies” is the Journal of his being there and his dive in the past and present of that flat world, with its straight lines on the bottom of an enormous man-made pit, in an almost forgotten corner of the Netherlands. It's a collection of new works and short stories based on, and inspired by his findings, interactions and things happening during his stay
